The latest Covid vaccine the government has lined-up for purchase is being described as the country's best option yet for the widespread vaccination of New Zealanders against the virus.
The government has announced a new purchase agreement for a vaccine by the company Janssen. in addition to the one it has already announced with American company Pfizer.
New Zealand has secured at least two million doses of the Janssen vaccine, which can be stored at a normal refrigerated temperature of between 2-8 degrees.
Dr Fran Priddy, the Clinical Director of the Vaccine Alliance Aotearoa - Ohu Kaupare Huaketo - told Māni Dunlop the agreement is a significant step in our fight against Covid-19.
