NZ to work with Joe Biden on trade, covid and climate change

From Midday Report, 12:14 pm on 9 November 2020

The United States President-elect, Joe Biden, has already started work on setting up a Covid-19 taskforce, which he will announce tomorrow.

It's one area which New Zealand's Prime Minister has identified that she wants to work with the US on going forward.

Jacinda Ardern told RNZ that with Mr Biden having visited New Zealand before as Vice President, the country already has a personal relationship with him.

She said she hopes to strengthen that and work with him over trade, covid and climate change.

Tim Groser was the New Zealand's Ambassador to the United States for three years from 2016, and is a former Minister for Trade and Climate Change Issues.

He spoke to Māni Dunlop.
