An affordable housing advocacy group in Porirua says it's not acceptable rental prices in the district are now the most expensive in the country.
The latest Trade Me Rental Price Index found Porirua rents climbed to a record $625 per week in September.
The median weekly rental price in Wellington was $600 and in Auckland it was $550.
