Police say they are making good progress with their investigation into the shooting of an officer in Northland on Tuesday morning.

The two men who shot at the officer's vehicle south of Kerikeri are still on the loose, and investigations are continuing into whether the incident is related to a kidnapping in the area on Monday night.
Police have not spoken publicly about the shooting since Tuesday afternoon, and have turned down RNZ's multiple requests for an interview since then.
Te Aniwa Hurihanganui spoke with the Northland MP, Matt King, who is also a former police officer.
