The Kawerau District mayor says the council will work closely with Norske Skogg as the newsprint mill owner decides what to do about the plant in the Bay of Plenty town.
Norske Skogg announced it is reviewing the future of its Tasman newsprint mill in Kawerau after Covid-19 had a rapid, negative and likely irreversible impact on the industry in the region.
The Kawerau District mayor, Malcolm Campbell, spoke to Māni Dunlop.
