Surveillance testing crucial to ensure we remain in Level 1

The Health Minister wants Covid testing rates to reach at least 3,000 swabs a day throughout the summer, despite the rates of cold and flu expecting to drop.

The whole of New Zealand is now at Alert Level 1, and last time the country was in this position - before the community outbreak in August - testing rates dropped to just several hundred a day.

Māni Dunlop spoke with the president of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine, Dr John Bonning.
