Electoral Commission fronts up on concerns over voting

From Midday Report, 12:42 pm on 7 October 2020

The Electoral Commission has apologised for a range of problems some people have experienced during this first week of advanced voting, but there's concern it'll turn some off from having their say at all.

In one electorate, the white circle where voters tick for their preferred party was missing next to Vision NZ, in an Auckland polling place staff couldn't find the Māori roll, while at least one Te Tai Tonga voter had to cast a special vote in Christchurch because they'd run out of ballots.

Māni Dunlop spoke to the Electoral Commission's Voting Services Manager, Graeme Astle.
