Labour has promised it will keep the Tiwai Point aluminium smelter open for another three to five years if re-elected to Government.
Leader Jacinda Ardern and their Energy spokesperson Megan Woods made the announcement in Invercargill a short time ago, where they also pledged to expand their Just Transitions Unit to focus on a locally-led transition plan for Southland.
