Taupō businesses have been springing into action following the news that an Auckland family who've tested positive for Covid-19, met with 18 people from all over the country during a trip to the top tourist destination.

Two of the three family members had been in managed isolation in Christchurch and travelled home on the same flight as a known case - a man who only tested positive a few days after completing managed isolation.

After arriving in Auckland, the family then took a trip to Taupō last Friday, where they met 18 people from Bay of Plenty, Wellington, Christchurch and Hamilton.

Places visited by the family members in Taupō include DeBretts Spa resort, tandem skydiving, KFC, Subway and a Z petrol station.
