American academic speaks out about massive data leak

The personal details of 2.4 million people around the world - including 800 New Zealanders - have been collected by a Chinese company linked to Beijing's intelligence networks.

The information was initially leaked from Zhenhua Data, a company based in Shenzhen to an American academic Christopher Balding.

He spoke to Te Aniwa Hurihanganui.
