Almost half of NZ's aid charities fear closure due to Covid

Nearly half of New Zealand's aid charities fear having to shut as the effects of the pandemic limit how much people are able to give.

Forty-six percent of aid charities say Covid-19 is a serious threat to their survival – and they're being told to think about merging with other organisations.

Darren Ward of Direct Impact Group is a co-author of a report looking at the health of the country's internationally-focused charities.

He spoke to Māni Dunlop.
