A not-for-profit is calling for help to meet the growing demand to feed families in need as pressure from the covid-19 pandemic grows.
The Kai Ika Project donates fish heads and bones - which are usually thrown away by commercial fishers - to families.
LegaSea, which runs the project, says it now operates it from five marae in Tamaki Makaurau.
Its general manager, Sam Woolford, told Māni Dunlop that with the growth of unemployment, they are struggling to meet the demand.
