Auckland City Mission facing record increase in demand

Charities are continuing to experience a record demand for food parcels as households struggle to make ends meet.

The Red Cross is giving out $40,000 worth of food vouchers a day to foreigners stranded in New Zealand by Covid 19, and is warning the crisis is worsening daily.

The Auckland City Mission is distributing a thousand food parcels a week to meet a record increase in demand.

Its Missioner and chief executive, Chris Farrelly, spoke with Māni Dunlop.
