Drip-fed infrastructure announcements lack certainty

From Midday Report, 12:44 pm on 21 July 2020

Construction and infrastructure leaders are decrying the government's drip-feeding of new project announcements, saying that approach prioritises politics over jobs.

The government set up a $3-billion COVID response and recovery fund, but has only announced about half-a-billion dollars worth of so-called 'shovel ready' projects since the start of the month.

The industry says that does not create enough certainty of future work.
