Isolation payments punishment for following Government advice

A New Zealander living in the UK says he feels he's being punished for following Government advice to stay put.

Cabinet is today considering introducing a fee which would require returning New Zealanders pay part of the cost of staying in an isolation facility for two weeks. 

The National Party says if they get into power, they will introduce a system where individuals will pay 3-thousand dollars for their stay.

But Craig MacDonnell - who works for a university in Scotland - told our reporter, Harry Lock, that the charge would be unfair.
