Three police searches following the Christchurch mosque attacks were unlawful, according to the Independent Police Conduct Authority.
After the attacks in March last year, a police operation identified people of interest to national security.
The police then searched homes or places of work without a warrant - seizing firearms and firearms licenses.
But three of those searches were found to be unlawful.
Māni Dunlop spoke with the chair of the Independent Police Conduct Authority, Judge Colin Doherty.
