Retailers still struggling with rents post-Covid

From Midday Report, 12:15 pm on 13 July 2020

Retail NZ says 17 percent of its members - almost one in five - are still struggling to negotiate rent relief with landlords following the Covid-19 lockdown, with some being threatened with eviction.

The Government announced plans in June to subsidise 75 percent of the cost of arbitration in rental disputes between landlords and lease holders- but that proposal is still before Cabinet.

Māni Dunlop spoke to the Retail NZ chief executive, Greg Harford.
