Police are talking to the four officers who held a man down as they arrested him for tagging a wall in Auckland in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Bystanders who filmed the altercation are claiming excessive use of force by the officers.
The police say they will be referring the matter to the Independent Police Conduct Authority.
The man, Nikau Andrews, spoke to RNZ.
