The Mental Health Foundation says there is not enough support for Māori, and their hauora - or overall wellbeing - is suffering as a result.
The Mental Health Commissioner, Kevin Allan, says addiction and psychiatric services for Māori have deteriorated since work to overhaul the system began nearly two years ago.
Michael Naera from the mental health foundation told Māni Dunlop that while they always expected the overhaul to take about a decade to complete; the current system was not helping people here and now.
