Positive signs for wandering albatross on Macquarie Island
One place on earth where there's no Covid-19, is Macquarie Island. Macquarie Island is in between Tasmania and Antarctica, and there are around 20 people there at the moment. Tasmania's Department of Primary Industries has been monitoring species on the island since 1994. Wildlife Ranger Sara Larcombe, spoke to Worldwatch reporter Annabel Reid she is seeing good signs about the wandering albatross, whose numbers had been in decline. She spoke about that, and other wildlife she monitors on the sub-Antarctic island.
