Govt open to sick leave extention – after the election

From Midday Report, 12:47 pm on 3 June 2020

The Workplace Relations and Safety Minister, Iain Lees-Galloway, says the Governmentis open to considering extending the minimum level of sick leave, but not before the election.

The Council of Trade Unions is calling for sick leave entitlements to be doubled to 10 days a year, and wants the Government to help small businesses meet the cost.

Mr Lees-Galloway told Māni Dunlop it's a discussion worth having, but the Government won't commit to anything before their first term comes to an end.
