The renowned artist, composer, tā moko expert and orator, Derek Lardelli, says his knighthood recognises the work done by all Māori artists across the motu.
Sir Derek received a knighthood for services to Maori art in the Queen's Birthday Honours.
He spoke to Māni Dunlop about what the accolade means to him and his whānau.
