Government releases freshwater reforms

The Government is pushing ahead with tough new rules to improve freshwater quality in New Zealand, with some concessions to ease the financial burden on farmers.

The wide range of restrictions and projects announced by the Government are aimed at cleaning up water in lakes, rivers and wetlands, and includes new limits on higher risk farm practices.

The Greens Environment Spokesperson, Eugenie Sage, spoke with Māni Dunlop.
