From Midday Report, 12:15 pm on 19 May 2020

Rotorua tourism leaders have met with the Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, to discuss the challenges faced by the city.

Ms Ardern, the Minister for Maori Development, Nanaia Mahuta and Toruism Minister, Kelvin Davis, have visited the city today, following an announcement of 7.6 million dollars in funding for Te Puia Tourism Centre and the Māori arts and crafts training centre.

Tourism is Rotorua's largest employer, and the city has relied heavily on international visitors.
