Family and sexual violence get more funding

From Midday Report, 12:45 pm on 11 May 2020

Family and sexual violence services are set to get an extra $200-million over the next four years, following a pre-Budget announcement by the Government.

The justice under-secretary, Jan Logie, says the money will mainly go to frontline services for victims and perpetrators of family violence and victims of elder abuse.

Police and Women's Refuge figures showed a roughly 20-percent increase in family violence reports when the country went into lockdown.
