Tourism Minister warns of further job losses

From Midday Report, 12:11 pm on 8 May 2020

The Tourism industry says operators are literally jumping for joy at the news domestic travel will open up again at Covid-19 Alert Level 2.

Government Ministers will make a decision on Monday about whether New Zealand is ready to make the shift from Level 3.

The sector had estimated up to 200,000 jobs could go as a result of the pandemic.

But the Tourism Minister, Kelvin Davis, told Māni Dunlop that domestic travel won't save every job.
