Aucklanders will have to abide by new water restrictions from the middle of the month, after councillors voted to enforce a ban on the use of outdoor hoses and commercial car washes.
The interventions are in response to one of the worst ever droughts to hit the city, with dam levels falling to just 46 per cent.
Māni Dunlop spoke to Auckland's mayor, Phil Goff about what this "stage one" of water restrictions will entail when it comes into force on May 16th.
