Ocean swimmers were relieved to dust off their wet suits and togs and get back in the water first thing this morning.
Under Alert Level 3, people are able to swim, surf and fish from the shore - but powered boating, jet-skiing and yachting are not allowed.
Andrea Jewell is an avid ocean swimmer, who is part of a group that swims in Wellington's harbour all year round.
She spoke with Māni Dunlop about what it was like to get back into the water.
