Returning NZer quarantined for just 6 days before sent home

From Midday Report, 12:16 pm on 9 April 2020

A man who flew into Auckland from England two weeks ago was only made to serve six days of his quarantine in a hotel before being flown back home to Napier to serve out the remainder of his self-isolation period.

Today the Government will introduce the compulsory supervised quarantine of all people entering the country, and may use the police and military to enforce those rules.

But one returning New Zealander - whom RNZ has agreed not to name - told Māni Dunlop he was surprised that he was flown home midway through his isolation period.
