It’s part of the global Worlds of Journalism Study conducted roughly every five years.

The previous study in 2016 surveyed 27,000 journalists in 66 countries and provided the first scientifically robust global picture of how journalists around the world see their work  - and how journalism is conducted around the world.

You can read more about the findings of the previous survey and the Worlds of Journalism Study  here. You can read the 2016 New Zealand findings here. You can read about how New Zealand journalists compare to others around the world here.

This year’s study, WJS 3.0, aims to reach more journalists in around 100 countries.

The principal purpose is to help journalism researchers, practitioners and policymakers better understand the changes that are taking place in the professional orientations of journalists, the structures in which they work as well as the role of journalism in a changing world.

The survey is completely anonymous. You will not be asked your name or any identifying details. No individual data will be retained or published.
