Tayi Tibble's poem Creation Story was published in the New Yorker this month. She's the fourth New Zealander to be published in the magazine.
Her debut poetry collection 'Poukahangatus' won the Jessie Mackay Prize for a best first book of Poetry at the 2019 Ockham Awards - and her second collection 'Rangikura' published in 2021 and was an Ockham finalist too.
Tayi spoke with Susana Leiataua about her work, process and representing New Zeland at an international level.
