Mamae Takerei on Koroneihana celebrations

Mapuna is at Turangawaewae Marae in Ngaruawahia for the first in-person Koroneihana, or coronation, celebrations since 2019. After two years of being online because of Covid-19 the annual celebration of Kiingi Tuheiteia Potatau Te Wherowhero te tuawhitu's coronation is back. Mamae Takerei is a kuia at Turangawaewae who is immersed in the history and traditions of the Kingitanga.
