Prominent Maori educator Ta Toby Curtis died last August and his son Piripi joins Julian Wilcox to discuss his father's legacy and just released memoir which lays out a vision for a more equitable Aotearoa. Ta Toby worked on the book right into the final days of his life. An honest, first hand exploration of Ta Toby’s decades of service to the country, he wrote: “with colonisation came an erosion of land, identity and resources. Once all those things have been removed from you, it is difficult to operate from a base of confidence or empowerment".
