Brandy’s story
Brandy is Samoan, fourteen and dreams of becoming a Silver Fern. Brandy lives in Porirua East, She’s also intellectually challenged and will need support her whole life but her disability falls just below the 1% criteria for on-going resource funding. Lynda Chanwai-Earle is in Porirua to hear how students like Brandy, the families and schools cope with funding cuts to special education in our low socio-economic areas.
