It's peak deer hunting season, otherwise known as the "roar," but it can be a dangerous time for hunters.
Luckily a father and son who went missing in Fiordland on Saturday were found today.
However, just last week a tramper was found dead in the national park after searches in the Devil's Armchair area.
Southland hunters equate for the most injuries nationwide during the roar.
