Older Kiwis excluded from digital Covid updates

From Lately, 10:36 pm on 7 December 2021

The reliance on technology for Covid Vaccine passes is highlighting the digital deficit among our seniors. Many seniors don't have a phone or computer which makes it difficult for them to participate in everyday life. Digital Seniors is a Wairarapa volunteer organisation who's been flat out helping older folk get print outs of their vaccine passes so they can carry them with them. Community manager, Sarah Wright is seeing people who don't even have an email address and she warns its a problem that should concern all of us at any age as tech develops faster than we do.
