Stalking is a problem in New Zealand not often talked about and it is usually related to domestic or custody issues. Statistics on stalking are not collected and there is no charge for stalking - instead it comes under harassment. Darren Morton is a security expert specialising in stalking resolutions and protection and he says the law is not sufficient to deal with the torment and hurt stalking causes..... its much more serious than a merely being a nuisance. He says there are people all around the country who know they are being stalked and don't know how to make it stop.
