There's finally some good news for Foveaux Strait after a month of anxious worry for the oyster industry - sampling work in Foveaux Strait hasn't uncovered any further cases of the deadly oyster parasite, Bonamia ostreae. In March, three wild oysters were found to be infected with the parasite. Biosecurity New Zealand has been searching for evidence of a wider spread of the parasite since then, and the news is good.
