Whakatane residents are breathing a sigh of relief that the city's mill has been sold. In March it was announced the mill would be closed and 210 people would lose their jobs. But the mill's owners SIG Combibloc announced yesterday it had sold the mill to a consortium of investors led by European investor Dr Dermot Smurfit. Whakatane's mayor Judy Turner joins Lately to talk about the importance of the mill to the town.
