The Rest Is History : The ANZUS Treaty

Tonight we're looking at a significant moment in New Zealand's defence history - the ANZUS treaty, which came into effect on the 29th of April 1952. Signed by Australia, New Zealand and the United States it recognised that an armed attack in the Pacific area on one member would endanger the peace and safety of the others. Dr Steve Hoadley is an international relations specialist with the University of Auckland.
