Anger from farmers at live cattle export ban

From Lately, 10:20 pm on 14 April 2021

The Government has announced all live exports by sea will be banned in two years' time. Last year more than 100-thousand breeding cattle were shipped to the main export market, China .. to the value of 260 million dollars.   The news has been welcomed by animal welfare groups, but met with something less than pleasure by farmers and export companies.

Central Hawke's Bay sheep and beef farmer, Jeremy Rookes tells Susana Leuitaua how important the trade is to farmers.
