From Lately, 10:27 pm on 16 September 2020

The union representing train drivers wants to see better safety at level crossings after the death of a bus driver this morning following a collision with a train near  Palmerston North.  Two people are still in hospital after the crash.  Kiwirail says the train driver was sounding their horn when the crash happened.

The secretary of the Rail and Maritime Transport Union, Wayne Butson wants the Government and Kiwirail to invest more in preventing level crossing collisions.
