Putting roads on a diet - Patrick Morgan

A trend is emerging in the UK and other parts of the world, they're calling it a Road Diet... reclaiming urban areas for pedestrians and cyclists.

Cities are experimenting with ways to exclude cars, and the latest to do it is Birmingham.

They're blocking off zones to traffic for certain hours of the day, designating certain days as car-free, banning diesel vehicles, and imposing charges.
