From Lately, 10:20 pm on 8 August 2019

Pharmac is proposing to fund new cancer drugs that are successfully being used around the world for breast cancer, lung cancer and multiple sclerosis. Lung cancer is New Zealand's biggest cancer killer - every day 5 New Zealanders die from lung cancer with a further 6 people diagnosed with lung cancer - and the annual mortality rates from lung cancer are five times the New Zealand Road Toll. Lung Cancer Foundation New Zealand is a non-government organisation whose mission is to increase survival for lung cancer sufferers. It's chief executive Philip Hope speaks with Karyn about Pharmac's announcement.
