March to reform New Zealand's abortion laws

From Lately, 10:30 pm on 23 July 2019

More than two hundred people marched to Parliament today calling for reform of New Zealand's abortion laws, as Cabinet prepares to consider a bill that would remove abortion from the Crimes Act.

The crowd was met by representatives from Family Planning, Abortion Rights Aotearoa, Victoria University as well as associate Justice Minister Jan Logie and Dame Margaret Sparrow.

The National President of Abortion Rights Aotearoa, Terry Bellamak, was also at today's march and talks with Karyn about how the law works at the moment and why they're looking for reform.
