How To Run A Book Festival

As New Zealand's only national agency dedicated to reading, the New Zealand Book Council seeks to build a nation of readers, leading to social, cultural and economic wellbeing. The Book Council offers a range of education and advocacy programmes, such as Writers in Schools, which has been running since 1972. And now they a new set of free resources to support event organisers called the Event Support Kit. The Book Council's programme manager Kathryn Carmody Karm-iddy hopes the toolkit will give new event organisers ideas and reassurance, and remind experienced event organisers to reach out to others in the sector. Kathryn joins me now.
