10:18 Auckland's bar springs back to life
Auckland's streets are humming, young and old have come out to play as lockdown ends and the new traffic light system begins. The music is loud, the feeling is relief and the refreshing cool drinks are flowing. Karyn Hay checks in with Matthew Crawley with his band Thee Golden Geese - playing at Wine Cellar on Auckland's K-Road and with one of the owners of the BBC bar in Birkenhead, Steve Simms, where the party has started!

10:25 The James Webb Space telescope and its solar mission
One of the grand scientific endeavours of the 21st century, the James Webb Space telescope is to be launched on December 22nd. Named after the NASA boss who oversaw the Apollo Moon-landing project, the telescope has taken 30 years and 10 billion US dollars to develop. Bigger than the Hubble telescope, the Webb will orbit the sun seeking out the light coming from the first stars to shine in the universe about 13.5 billion years ago. Karyn talks to a NASA astrophysicist who has been working on the project since 1997.
