A wrap of international media coverage, as authorities in the Chinese city of Wuhan try to control the spread of a new virus.

Eleven million residents have been urged not to leave the city, 17 people have died, and cases have been reported in neighouring countries and the United States.

10.30  Toxic algae sparks public heath warning

A public health warning has been issued at a Canterbury river after the discovery of potentially toxic blue-green algae.

The algae has been found in the Selwyn Waikirikiri River, downstream of the Whitecliffs Domain near the picnic area, and Karyn speaks with Tim Davie from Environment Canterbury about what to watch for and how to keep safe.
