In Samoa two days of national shutdown have ended and vaccination vans are returning to Apia from remote villages throughout the country.
 
Almost everyone has been staying at home under government emergency orders, with the very sick have been staying in hospital.

10.30 Wanaka prepares as the Lake water keeps rising

Volunteers have come out in full force in Wanaka, to try to protect the town from flooding.

Sandbags have been placed in front of businesses along the main street as the lake's water level hovers just below the flood alert threshold.
