The ambulance service is receiving more funding now than ever before.

But ambulance crews fear that patient's lives are being put at risk because ambulance officers are having to turn up to emergencies on their own and response times are too slow.

Does the voluntary nature of the ambulance service need changing to bring the vital health resource in to the 21st Century?
